4 Types of Motorhomes Explained
When planning to buy a motorhome, online auctions are a good place to start, but it’s also important to understand the different options available. AutoBidMaster gives you access to repairable, damaged motorhomes for sale. There are many options to choose from, depending on your needs and budget.
Motorhomes generally fall into four categories: Class A, Class B, Class B+, and Class C. While each class has its pros and cons, Class B+ motorhomes combine features of Class B and Class C models. In this blog, we’re taking a closer look at the four classes to help you choose the best one for your needs.
Class A Motorhomes
Class A motorhomes are among the largest RVs available, typically measuring 29–45 feet long and accommodating up to eight people. They offer many of the features of a small apartment, with more interior space than smaller RV classes. Depending on the model, features may include slide-outs, exterior storage compartments, awnings, a full kitchen and bathroom, and a queen-size bed in the master bedroom.
Class B Motorhomes
Class B motorhomes, also known as camper vans, are the smallest type of motorhome and can accommodate up to four people. They typically range from 18 to 24 feet in length and have less living space than Class A and Class C models. They also generally use less fuel and offer less storage space, but their compact size makes them better suited to boondocking and dry camping.
Class B+ Motorhomes
Class B+ motorhomes are like larger versions of Class B motorhomes and offer additional amenities. They combine features of Class B and Class C motorhomes and may include larger kitchens, more living and sleeping space, twin beds or sofa beds, and a separate shower. Their layouts make efficient use of the available space to provide added comfort. They may be a good choice for families looking for more room than a traditional camper van offers.
Class C Motorhomes
Class C motorhomes offer a middle ground between Class A and Class B models. They can be a good choice for couples, families, or groups of friends, and some models can sleep up to eight people. They offer many of the amenities found in Class A motorhomes, along with generous living space. They are typically built on a truck or van chassis and are recognizable by the section that extends over the cab, which often provides additional sleeping or storage space.

Motorhomes are self-propelled RVs, so you don’t need a separate vehicle to tow them. AutoBidMaster offers damaged motorhomes for sale in a range of makes and models.
