EPA fuel economy ratings has taken the auto industry by the reigns as hybrid and electric cars are becoming more and more popular. From the rise of the Toyota Prius (which is #1 on this list) to completely electric cars (like the Tesla Model S – #3) there’s a green car out there for everybody. So, it’s no surprise they’re selling like lil’ electric (or half gas half electric, anyway) hotcakes on AutoBidMaster. Here’s a list of the some of the best used hybrids and electric cars we’ve sold over the last year, ranked by popularity.

5. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

The 2019 Hyundai Sonata is an excellent option for a luxury hybrid car with a realistic price point. With an EPA estimated 40mpg in the city and 46mpg on the highway, the Sonata is an excellent example of a hybrid vehicle that’ll cut down on fuel costs. The hybrid seats 5, comes with the standard FWD drivetrain with a six speed automatic transmission and puts out 193 HP at 6,000 rpms. The interior is comfortable and spacious, but the trunk space is lacking because of the battery’s placement. Overall, the Sonata Hybrid is an excellent sedan for anybody interested in a hybrid car. 4. Honda Civic Hybrid

The Honda Civic has been a staple of the auto-industry since its release in 1972, and Honda has certainly kept up with the hybrid and EV trend. While Honda has discontinued the Civic’s hybrid iteration as of 2015 (replaced by the Honda Insight), it’s kept its spot as a top seller on AutoBidMaster. Reliable, comfortable, and with an EPA estimated fuel economy of 44 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway, the Honda Civic Hybrid is a great choice for a comfortable and green car. Check out Honda Civic Hybrids on AutoBidMaster.

3. Tesla Model S

Launched in 2012, the Model 3 has seen numerous upgrades since its inception. Now offered in Long Range and Performance models, newer models can hit 60 MPH as fast as 2.4 seconds, top out at 163 MPH, and have a 370 mile range on a single charge. That’s at the top of the electric car range, thus far. Oh, they’re AWD, too. This is the only completely electric vehicle on this list, and while it may be a bit more expensive than other hybrids, it’s an amazing electric car if you can swing it. See our available Model S inventory here.

2. Toyota Camry Hybrid

From 1997-2016 (with the exception of 2001) the Toyota Camry was the best-selling passenger car in the United States. Toyota, like Honda, has kept up with green technology at an excellent pace. The 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid puts out an EPA estimated 52MPG combined along with 176 horsepower. That, combined with Toyota’s comfort and luxury, safety systems, and an excellent resale value, makes the Toyota Camry Hybrid a phenomenal choice and leaves no questions as to why it’s number two on this list. Check out your options here.

1. Toyota Prius

Introduced in Japan in 1997 and released worldwide in 2001, the Prius paved the road for hybrid vehicles as we know them. Available in both FWD and AWD and putting out 121 horsepower, it has a fantastic EPA fuel economy estimate of 52-58mpg in the city and 48-53 mpg on the highway, depending on the trim. The main drawback with the Prius is its overall drive: it may be a little boring for some. If you’re looking for a sporty vehicle the Prius may not be the number one pick for you, but if you’re looking for a gas-saving, green vehicle that is not only reliable and practical but comfortable to boot, the Prius is an excellent choice for you. Check ‘em out.

And always remember to get a ClearVIN VIN Check Report before bidding on any lot! Revealing vehicle specs by VIN can uncover important information about a car’s ownership history, such as how many previous owners it has had and whether it has ever been used as a rental or fleet vehicle.
