If you’re thinking about bidding on a vehicle from overseas, you’ll have to consider international car shipping. Whether it’s a car, truck, SUV, motorcycle, ATV, RV, or anything else: you’ll have to get it to your destination country somehow.
We’ve got your covered
We can help you ship your vehicle, worldwide, right from your AutoBidMaster account. Every lot listing page has a guaranteed shipping quote under the bid box on the right-hand side of the page. Not only will that give you your shipping costs, but travel time for both domestic and international car shipping.
How international vehicle shipping works
When you’re getting ready to ship a vehicle internationally, there’s one surefire way to cut down on shipping costs: find a vehicle that’s located close to the port that’ll be delivering it to your country.
Domestic and international vehicle shipping start off in the same way: a licensed tow provider will pick up your vehicle from the auction yard after it’s paid for in full. If you’re shipping domestically, it’ll head to your drop-off from there. When you’re shipping vehicles internationally, though, it’ll be taken to the port of departure.
From there, it’ll be loaded into a container (typically a 40-foot shared with other vehicles) and photos of the vehicle will be uploaded to your account. Then, you just sit back and wait for your vehicle to arrive: we’ll take care of all US Customs clearance for you. You’ll have to arrange for customs clearance in your destination country.
Exporting restrictions
Many salvage title vehicles are exportable, but there are specific document types that aren’t. Before bidding on a vehicle, make sure that the document or title type listed doesn’t contain the following: BOS / BILL OF SALE / LIEN / PARTS / JUNK / SCRAP. Otherwise, you’re good to go.
Saving on International Car Shipping Costs
The quickest way to save on international vehicle shipping costs is to find a vehicle that’s already close to the port of departure. For example, if you find a car at an auction in the middle of the United States, you’ll have to ship it to the port of departure. That’s a long way to go compared to a vehicle that’s already in the same state as the port it’ll be leaving from.
On the left-hand side of your vehicle search results page, you can narrow down your search results by location to find the vehicle that’s closest to the port. It’ll save you money, guaranteed.
