When looking to bid on repairable cars for sale at salvage auto auctions, one thing you should never overlook is researching, budgeting, and arranging shipping. International shipping requires that you be in possession of all the important documents, especially when planning to ship a regular car. It is important to make arrangements for the shipping of your vehicle in time as the auction yard will start charging storage after 3 days. In this blog, we answer some of the commonly asked questions about international shipping.

1. Do you offer international shipping?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: AutoBidMaster offers international vehicle shipping in an arrangement with an independent company, EasyHaul. The company extends a simple shipping solution to all AutoBidMaster members. You cannot export if in the Documents section you read:  BOS / BILL OF SALE / LIEN / PARTS / JUNK / SCRAP. After winning the auction, ordering your vehicle shipping is easy and takes a few clicks starting with clicking on the ‘Place Order’ button which is located on the ‘Lots Won’ tab. You can enter details such as the Port of delivery as well as mention any special delivery needs. You will get real-time status updates on the progress of your shipping through email.

2. What other notifications will I get?

You are kept up-to-date from the moment you place a shipping order to the delivery of the vehicle. The notifications that you will receive are:

  • Order is placed
  • Payment for shipping has been made
  • The vehicle is scheduled for pick-up from the auction yard
  • Vehicle has been picked up from the auction yard
  • Vehicle has been delivered

You can also track your vehicle shipment’s progress. Check the container # in your account profile and request a shipping line link to track your shipping with the shipping line.

3. What paperwork do I need to ship my vehicle?

When you wish to ship your car internationally, you need to have  the original Vehicle Title and Purchase Agreement. Once the vehicle is shipped and processed by US Customs, you will receive the documents together with the Bill of Lading through certified mail.

4. Is the vehicle insured during shipping?

Carriers that are contracted to EasyHaul are required to have a minimum of $100, 000 cargo insurance for every vehicle for inland transportation. International customers are required to cover their own vehicle insurance needs for international shipping. You can get Marine Insurance from EasyHaul at approx 2.5 – 4.5% of the vehicle’s value depending on its destination.

5. How long does it take to ship a vehicle?

The time it takes to ship your vehicle will depend on the distance and route to its destination. The time will take anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks to reach its destination from the time of pick-up. Factors that come into play include the vehicle’s location in the US,its destination port, weather, and the available space on ocean vessels. From the time the ship sails, shipments to Europe and South America will take 4 Weeks, while those to the Middle East and Africa will take 5 weeks.
